Have a cuppa and a chat, maybe chop some veg and enjoy a delicious free lunch!

From the Hythe Youth Centre September Newsletter:

“Our Community Kitchen project is continuing to cook up a storm every other Wednesday and we have also been giving away fresh fruit and vegetables to anyone who comes along, including some that were grown on our allotment. We have cooked some fantastic meals and have a fantastic core team that is putting a lot of effort into the project. We are keen to have more people get involved in cooking, including those with no experience who want to learn some skills. It is a fun and friendly environment and has been a thoroughly enjoyable endeavour so far. We also welcome anyone who wants to come and partake in lunch, which is usually served around 12pm.
The allotment is also proving a very fruitful project, we have harvested cucumbers and butternut squash in recent weeks and are hoping to have some pumpkins ready in time for Hallowe’en. The transformation of the space has been quite inspiring, and I am excited to see what comes next. It played host to our first community Forest School sessions during the summer holidays, where two small groups of young people from our clubs took part in a variety of activities in the woods and on the allotment and the feedback from these sessions was overwhelmingly positive.”
