The South Kent Coast Food Partnership has 8 strategic goals, each with a working group of individuals & organisations focussed on its success:
- No-one goes hungry
- No food wasted
- ’Good food’ contracts for all anchor institutions
- Community kitchens with communal cooking & eating spaces
- Good food transport & distribution service
- Residents are active, empowered ‘food citizens’ & the area is seen as a hub of ‘good food’
- Rainwater harvesting & community composting across the district
- Young persons in education understand ‘good food’ & environmental justice
Working definition (TBC by our members) of “good” food = food that does not harm the natural environment or the people producing or eating it
